The artistic look of your gift and loyalty cards is important to the success of your program. Although standard cards are available we have found that most merchants prefer to have their cards printed with their logo, design, and color scheme. If you already have a relationship with a local printer then they can usually assist you with creating the design and putting it into the proper electronic format. Should you require assistance then complete design services are available for a moderate fee.

When you will be provide the artwork it should be created in one of the following programs in either Mac or PC:

• Quark Xpress 4.0 to 6.0
• Adobe InDesign 2 to CS2
• Adobe Photoshop CS2 or lower
• Adobe Illustrator CS2 or lower
• Macromedia Freehand MX or lower
• Adobe Pagemaker 7 or lower
• Corel Draw 7.0 (Win) & 6.0 (Mac)

For most of our smaller merchants that don't have graphic expertise we ask you to just email us your logo and artwork ideas in a high resolution format such as a gif or jpeg. Our in-house art design department will review it at no charge and will put together a proof for your review.

Although not preferred, separated film and camera-ready artwork can often be used. However, photocopies and preprinted materials (business cards, brochures, etc.) are less suitable for high quality graphic production and should usually be avoided.

In creating your card design please keep in mind the following important points. The standard gift card (CR 80) is 3 3/8” (width) x 2 1/8” (height) x 0.30 mil (thickness). These are the same dimensions as a standard credit card. Artwork that bleeds must extend 1/16th” beyond the edge of the card. A 1/8” trim safety margin inside of the card edge is recommended for all type and essential art elements.

When you send us your artwork files they maybe send via an email attachment (depending upon the file size), via floppy disk, 100 & 250 MB Zip disks (both IBM and Mac), or CD.

Once acceptable artwork has been received, an electronic proof will be created and sent to you via email within 1 to 2 business days. A color laser proof can also be sent upon request. Color Key or Matchprint proofs can be supplied at additional cost.

After you sign off on the approved proof you can realistically expect the card production time to take approximately 15 to 20 business days depending upon the time of the year plus shipping time to your location.
